2020 has been the worst year so far as we all had to say goodbye to umpteen celebs and renowned personalities which have left almost everyone broken. Recently social media has been doomed and people are mourning after soccer legend Diego Maradona’s heartbreaking demise. He died due to a cardio-respiratory attack and had also gone under surgery after a stroke in November.
Paying tribute to Maradona Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “Diego Maradona… you made football even more beautiful. You will be sorely missed, and may you entertain and enthral heaven as you did this world. RIP.”
And Messi, who’s magical football career has been likened to that of Maradona, has delivered his own tribute to the football icon. “A very sad day for all Argentines and for football,” he wrote on Instagram. “He leaves us but does not leave, because Diego is eternal.”I keep all the beautiful moments lived with him and I wanted to take the opportunity to send my condolences to all his family and friends. RIP,” added Messi.
Not only this, but Rahul Gandhi had also tweeted and paid homage to the legend. He wrote, “Diego #Maradona, the legend has left us. He was a magician who showed us why football is called “The beautiful game”. My condolences to his family, friends, and fans. Gracias Argentina.”
Well, what they say is true indeed, “legends never die”.
